Patient Information Update
We would like to thank our patients for their patience and understanding regarding several issues that have recently generated questions and concerns.
As a GP practice, we are tenants within the Dickson House building and are one of four healthcare organisations operating from the site. While we are happy to report concerns on behalf of our patients, many aspects of the building and surrounding facilities are managed by the building’s management company and are outside our direct control.
Lift Maintenance
We are aware that the lifts occasionally experience faults and disruption.
Please be assured that when we become aware of lift issues, we report them promptly to the building management company. However, Crown Heights Medical Centre does not own, maintain or repair the lifts and is not responsible for arranging repairs. We appreciate how frustrating lift outages can be and will continue to escalate concerns where appropriate.
Car Parking
We understand that parking can be a source of frustration for patients.
The car park underneath Dickson House is not owned or managed by Crown Heights Medical Centre. Patients use the car park at their own risk and should ensure they park only in designated patient parking bays. Patients should be advised there are several other available car parks in and around Basingstoke Town Centre and they should try to use them where possible. There is very limited free parking available so this should be factored in when attending Crown Heights for an appointment.
Please note that vehicles parked in unauthorised spaces, including bays reserved for doctors, staff or other authorised users, may be subject to parking enforcement and receive a parking charge notice.
We have been advised that improvement and refurbishment works to the car park are planned, and we hope this will improve the parking experience for all visitors.
Scaffolding and Building Works
Many patients have commented that the current scaffolding makes the practice harder to locate.
The scaffolding forms part of a residential building project to remove and replace external fire cladding. These works are being undertaken by contractors on behalf of the residential building owners and are not connected with the medical centre.
While we appreciate that this can make access and visibility more challenging, the works are temporary and are outside the practice’s control.
Thank You
We remain committed to providing the best possible healthcare service to our patients. Whilst some building-related matters sit outside our remit, we will continue to raise concerns with the appropriate management teams when issues are brought to our attention.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
