Meningitis B (MenB) Catch-up Programme – Important Information

NHS England and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have recently announced a MenB catch-up vaccination offer.

This programme is designed to help protect certain groups who may have missed their original meningococcal B (MenB) vaccination, which helps prevent serious infections such as meningitis and septicaemia.

Can our practice provide this vaccine?

Our GP practice is not commissioned to deliver this programme of MenB catch-up vaccinations.

Where can I get vaccinated?

Eligible patients will be able to access the MenB vaccine through participating community pharmacies.

We recommend that you:

  • Contact your local pharmacy directly to check availability
  • Visit the NHS website for more information on eligibility and participating locations
  • Speak to a pharmacist for advice

Who might be eligible?

Why is the MenB vaccine important?

MenB infection can lead to serious and life‑threatening illnesses, including meningitis and blood poisoning. Vaccination is the best protection.
