Winter Flu & COVID Update for Patients

🦠 Stay Well This Winter

As we move into the autumn and winter months, we are preparing for the annual increase in seasonal illnesses, including flu, COVID-19, coughs, colds, and other viral infections.

Every year, GP practices experience significantly increased demand during the winter period. We want to reassure patients that we are working hard to ensure those who need care most can access it as quickly as possible.

💉 Flu & COVID Vaccinations

If you are eligible for a flu and/or COVID vaccination this year, please take up the offer when invited.

Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect yourself, your family, and more vulnerable members of our community from serious illness.

Eligible patients will be contacted directly when appointments become available. Please avoid contacting the practice to enquire about vaccine availability before invitations have been sent, as this can add pressure to our telephone lines.

🤒 Feeling Unwell?

Many winter illnesses can be safely managed at home with rest, fluids, and advice from your local pharmacist.

Please consider:

✅ Self-care for minor coughs, colds, sore throats and viral illnesses
✅ Speaking with your community pharmacist for advice and treatment where appropriate
✅ Using NHS 111 online for urgent advice when the practice is closed

If your symptoms are severe, worsening, or you’re concerned about a vulnerable family member, please contact us for further assessment.

📱 The Best Way to Contact Us

The quickest and most effective way to contact the practice for routine medical concerns is via Klinik.

Submitting an online request means:

✔️ Your query reaches the right team first time
✔️ We can assess your needs efficiently
✔️ You may not need to wait on the phone
✔️ We can prioritise urgent clinical issues appropriately

❤️ Help Us Help You
