NEWS on appointment availability Message to Patients
You can make an appointment to see your doctor or practice nurse by telephoning 01256 329021. This line is busiest before 11.00am. If possible please phone later, especially if you are requesting a routine appointment.
We are happy for you to see any of our doctors, however it is often better to stay with one doctor for continuity of care, especially during one episode of illness.
There is always a doctor available, but of course your "usual" doctor may be away on holiday or on a day. Please see the Opening Times tab for which doctors work when.
We offer the following types of appointments:
- Rapid Telephone Triage - If you feel that your problem warrants urgent treatment we offer a telephone call with the Duty Doctor. He/she will call you, discuss your condition, and ask you to come to the surgery where it is appropriate to do so.
- Routine - You can choose to consult the doctor of your choice by appointment at the morning or afternoon surgery. Routine appointments will be offered at the first available time. Please allow at least a 3 week wait when booking a routine appointment.
- Telephone - You can make a routine telephone appointment with a doctor, again please allow at least 3 weeks when booking.
This facility is available for all our overseas patients who need the assistance of a translator. When booking your appointment please request a double appointment with your doctor and advise us that you would like the assistance of a translator.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason PLEASE INFORM US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Even a last minute cancellation can sometimes be used. If you do not cancel and you do not turn up we reserve the right to use our DNA policy.
Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments now available
From Monday 3rd September 2018 we will work with Odiham and Old Basing Health Centre as part of a primary care collaborative group (Mosaic Healthcare) to provide Improved Access appointments between 6:30pm to 8:00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings and on Sundays.
Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturday and Sunday). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at another NHS setting nearby. Talk to the practice receptionist to find out more or book an appointment.
By March 2019 everyone in England will benefit from access to general practice appointments in the evenings and weekends at a time that is most convenient to them. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Further information is available at www.england.nhs.uk/gpaccess
